SVA Financial Group’s Jeanne Mraz, CFP®, CEPS presented a webinar for Groundswell Conservancy on October 7, 2020. The presentation, titled Charitable Giving Considerations for 2020, discussed how charitable giving can help one’s tax picture.
On Friday, March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law. The economic stimulus bill aims to provide immediate relief for individuals and incentivize charitable giving by increasing tax deductions for charitable donations. Planning is important to maximize the tax implication. Attendees at this special presentation learned how the CARES Act can impact the 2020 tax year, changes to charitable deductions for 2020, ways to maximize the Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA (despite the suspension of the Required Minimum Distribution for 2020), what is a Donor Advised Fund, and more.
